In 2020, the Chris Conti Memorial Grant (CCMG) was created as a way to honor the memory and legacy of our co-founder. This year’s CCMG was awarded to the Floyd County Police Department and will provide a free fitness center inclusive of consultation, space planning, athletic flooring, and all new strength, cardio, and fitness accessories.
The grant is replacing the FCPD’s existing fitness equipment and flooring as both have now become worn and fallen into disrepair. FCPD even had to get creative and fabricate some of their own fitness accessories by making a sandbag covered in several rolls of duct tape. Due to FCPD’s lack of funds, the fitness center has never been updated and this led to most of the officers paying for gym memberships instead of being able to work out onsite, either before or after their shift. The grant will provide a much needed, updated fitness center for the officers and will also be a recruiting tool for new officers.
Check out the following video for a sneak peek of what we have planned for the renovations!
