We held our 2nd Annual Backyard Olympic Games Fundraiser and bounced, shuffled, tossed, and jousted our way to raising funds to benefit the Fostering Education Scholarship Fund (“FESF”). To date, we have raised over $2,400 and will continue raising funds through May 31, 2022.
Our teams competed in the plunger challenge, hippity hop race, plank walker, slimy spelling relay, tipsy waiter relay, and many more fun and adventurous games. Officer Tim Collum from the Cobb County Police Department even joined in on the fun! Ultimately, the Green Fancy Freelancers team came out on top and won the Sippy Cup Trophy!
The purpose of the FESF is to provide scholarships to students who have aged out of the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services System (“Foster Care”), who are in their senior year of high school or no more than 12 months past high school graduation and plan to pursue an undergraduate degree at an accredited institution. Scholarships will be awarded in the amounts of $1,000-$3,000 per person per year and can be applied to tuition, fees, and books. The FESF is held at the Cobb Community Foundation (“CCF”) to provide a vehicle for receipt and acknowledgment of charitable contributions, to ensure that IRS rules and regulations are followed, and to handle all required regulatory reporting.
