Delicious Cinnamon Apple Morning Oats

You have heard it said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. There is a tremendous amount of research out there to support this claim, but what you choose to eat for breakfast is even more crucial. When you begin your day with hearty, healthy foods, you kickstart your metabolism and replenish energy and nutrient stores. But what is the best food to kickstart your mornings?

According to his book, Medical Medium, author Anthony Williams explains that melons are one of the fastest digesting foods out there, making them perfect to eat alone or paired with good fats and proteins. Melons are also a great source of electrolytes which help keep you hydrated and regulate nerve and muscular function.

Don’t underestimate the benefits of celery juice in the morning. Made up mostly of water, this green marshland plant is said to be a miracle worker when consumed on an empty stomach. It is attributed to benefits such as clearer skin, removal of toxins, and reduction of bloating and gastrointestinal problems.

Last, but certainly not least, oatmeal is a simple yet complex food that has been a staple for thousands of years. Oats are naturally gluten free, making it ideal for people who have gluten allergies or follow an anti-inflammatory diet. Whether you are partial to sweet or savory, this versatile food is delicious either way. Fill it or top it with fruit, nuts, seeds, butters, or protein. Busy mornings and no time to prepare? No problem! You can prepare overnight oats the evening before and grab them on the way out the door. Additionally, oats are a natural superfood rich in vitamins and minerals such as: magnesium, thiamine, zinc, and iron. Healthy and hearty oats win the award for being a balanced and versatile breakfast option.
